Day 3

What we did today:

  1. Life of a farmer
  2. Journaling
  3. Podcasting
  4. Showcase

Kate, as Teacher Matt and Miss G have observed, switches on when it comes to arts & crafts. Drawing, it seems, is something that she is always excited about. Teacher Matt would write the words while she complimented it with drawings and other pictures, evidently in the journal she created.

Once again, we were blessed with perfect weather: sunny skies and refreshing, cool breezes.

Kate began the day like a true farmer, hopping into her lorry and heading to the fields.

The first task was wood chopping, essential for the fire needed to cook sweet potatoes. Don’t let Kate’s small stature fool you—her strength and precision rival that of a seasoned ten-year-old! Once enough wood was chopped, Shiro-san took over to light the fire, while Kate moved on to planting tiny carrot seedlings. Under Kirsten-san's guidance, she carefully nestled the seeds into the soil and gave them a generous watering. We’ll have to wait until March 2025 to see the fruits of her labor!
